TRANSFORMERS 4, Jack Reynor, Michael Bay
Michael Bay has officially tapped Jack Reynor to star alongside Mark Wahlberg for TRANSFORMERS 4, the director announced on his website today.
Of Reynor, Bay wrote:
"He is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket," Bay blogs about his new hire. "Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie What Richard Did. This kid is the real deal."
Reynor is best known for starring in Kirsten Sheridan's DOLLHOUSE.
Bay didn't stop with Reynor's casting announcement, however.
"We are embarking on a new trilogy," he said, squashing rumors that the latest TRANSFORMERS outing would be a reboot of the franchise. Instead, it will pick up 4 years after 2011's DARK OF THE MOON.
"The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three."
As previously reported, Hunter Parrish (WEEDS), Luke Grimes (TAKEN 2), Landon Liboiron (TERRA NOVA), Brenton Thwaites (BLUE LAGOON: THE AWAKENING), were up for the role alongside Reynor.
According to multiple sources, TRANSFORMERS 4 follows Wahlberg's character and his daughter, as well as her race car driver boyfriend (Reynor).
The film is set to begin production late this year.
