IDENTITY THIEF
IDENTITY THIEF, starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman, has taken back the top spot at the box office.
Following last weekend, when the film dropped to the No. 2 spot, the film took in an additional $14 million, bumping its two-week total to $93.6 million.
In the film, unlimited funds have allowed Diana to live it up on the outskirts of Miami, where the queen of retail buys whatever strikes her fancy. There's only one glitch: The ID she's using to finance these sprees reads "Sandy Bigelow Patterson"... and it belongs to an accounts rep who lives halfway across the U.S.
With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life. And as he attempts to bribe, coax and wrangle her the 2,000 miles to Denver, one easy target will discover just how tough it is to get your name back.
THIEF managed to out-do Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's latest thriller SNITCH, which grossed $13 million since its release on Friday.
ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH took the third spot, hauling in $11 million. Its total now sits at at $35.1 million.
The adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' SAFE HAVEN took the fourth spot with $10.6M, while A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD rounded out the top five, bringing in another $10M.
