TRANSFORMERS 4 director Michael Bay has reportedly gotten underway in casting for the upcoming flick. This week, BroadwayWorld reported that Mark Wahlberg had officially signed on in what's being billed as a 'reboot' of the series. And today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Bay has also begun screen testing actors for the two young male and female leads - including WEEDS and Broadway veteran Hunter Parrish.
According to multiple sources, TRANSFORMERS 4 follows Wahlberg's character and his daughter, as well as her race car driver boyfriend, who Parrish would play if cast.
Up for the male lead aside from Parrish are Luke Grimes (TAKEN 2), Landon Liboiron (TERRA NOVA), Brenton Thwaites (BLUE LAGOON: THE AWAKENING), and Jack Reynor.Those reportedly testing for the female role including Isabelle Cornish and Nicola Peltz (THE LAST AIRBENDER).
Parrish is best known for his role on WEEDS, alongside Mary Louise Parker. He has also appeared on Broadway in both the original revival cast of GODSPELL, and SPRING AWAKENING.
