According to Comingsoon.net, 'Man of Steel's Henry Cavill is currently in talks to star as Napoleon Solo in a reboot of the 1960's TV series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. It was initially announced that Tom Cruise would appear in the lead role however last week the action star bowed out of the project to focus on his Mission Impossible franchise.

Cavill will join previously announced cast members Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander in the project to be directed by Guy Richie from a script by Scott Z. Burns and Max Borenstein.

The film follows the spy adventures of an American agent, Napoleon Solo, and Soviet agent Illya Kuryakin (Hammer). The original TV series was broadcast on NBC from 1964, to 1968. It followed the exploits of two secret agents, played by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, who worked for a fictitious secret international espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E.
