Harry Connick Jr., Willie Nelson, Connie Britton et al. Will Appear in Holiday Film 'When Angels Sing'

When the holiday season rolls around this winter, amidst the slew of holiday films will be "When Angels Sing". Based on the novel of the same name, the plot centers around a man whose holiday spirit dwindles inadvertently when he has a child; however, when his son faces a tragedy, he must recover the spirit that he lost, reports Variety.

Harry Connick Jr. will star as the father, with Connie Britton, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, Lyle Lovett and more also cast. The film will be directed by Tim McCanlies, who directed 2003's "Secondhand Lions", and will be produced by EYA Productions, FWM Productions, and Shannon Mcintosh.

In addition to the film, Harry Connick Jr. will have his 2010 return to Broadway in "Harry Connick Jr. in Concert on Broadway" aired on PBS's Great Performances in March. Read the BroadwayWorld report on that here.

"When Angels Sing" began production recently around Austin and Bastrop, Texas. It will feature Texas musicians such as Bob Schneider, Charlie Sexton, Sarah Hickman, and Ray Benson. The movie is slated for December release.
