HANSEL AND GRETEL Leads Friday Box Office; MOVIE 43, PARKER FlopThis weekend isn't shaping up to be a good one for the box office.

The three new films to open domestically this week - HANSEL AND GRETEL, PARKER, and MOVIE 43 - all undershot their expectations.

HANSEL AND GRETEL, with Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, leads the new crop of films, taking in $6 million on Friday, eyeing a total gross of $17 by Sunday. Paramount and MGM had originally hoped for somewhere around $25 million for their gorey spin on The Fairy tale classic.

After getting a taste for blood as children, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become the ultimate vigilantes, hell bent on retribution. Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches...their past.

PARKER, the crime thriller film directed by Taylor Hackford, and starring Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez, stalled during its opening day. The action flick took the fifth spot at Friday's box office, making a measly $2.1 million. FilmDistrict is adjusting their prediction for the film from $10 million to $6m.

The movie is adapted from the Parker novel "Flashfire", the 19th in the series written by Donald Westlake (pen name Richard Stark).

Finally, the critically-panned ensemble MOVIE 43 - the latest eye-rolling endeavor from Peter Farrelly - grossed $1.8 million, with $5 million the ultimate goal for the weekend.

Included in the cast of MOVIE 43 is Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Halle Berry, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth,Gerard Butler, Bobby Cannavale, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, John Hodgman,Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Justin Long, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Chris Pratt, Liev Schreiber, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis,Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet.
