FilmDistrict Acquires OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, Stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman

FilmDistrict has officially nabbed the rights for the upcoming White House invasion thriller, OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, prepping it for a nationwide release on April 5, 2013.

Antoin Fuqua's OLYMPUS centers on the president (Aaron Eckhart) and "key members of his administration taken hostage, and a Secret Service agent (Butler) who tries to stop the plot." Angela Bassettand Morgan Freeman are also set to star.

The script was penned by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt with Mark Gill, Alan Siegel and Butler producing the Millennium Films project. Avi Lerner and Trevor Short are executive producing.
