According to news released by The Hollywood Reporter, Neil Gaiman's Newberry Award-winning novel The Graveyard Book has been picked up by Disney. Gil Netter (Marley & Me, Life of Pi) will produce with Ben Browning. Rumors point to stop-motion director Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas) as director.

The book centers on Nobody Owens, an orphaned boy raised by ghosts after the murders of his family.
Gaiman is best known for writing the DC/Vertigo comic book series The Sandman, as well as the young adult book Coraline, which was adapted into a film. Gaiman also wrote the book Stardust, which was made into a film in 2007.
