Caitlin Stasey to Star in Supernatural Thriller ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE

Modernciné announced today that they have finalized the cast for ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE, a high school-set supernatural thriller written and directed by Lucky McKee ("May," "The Woman") and Chris Sivertson ("The Lost," "I Know Who Killed Me"). The film is produced by Andrew van den Houten (''Funeral Kings," "The Woman"), Robert Tonino (''The Woman," "In the Family") and stars Caitlin Stasey ("Tomorrow When the War Began"), Sianoa Smit-McPhee ("Hung"), and introduces Tom Williamson. Executive producing is Arrien Schiltkamp, with Russell Dinstein onboard as Co-Executive producer. The film is scheduled for a production start date of November 26th in Los Angeles.

Mäddy Killian is a 17 year old rebel at Blackfoot High School on a mission to take down the captain of the football team. She rallies a group of cheerleaders around her cause, but after a tragic turn of events the girls are thrust into a supernatural battle that culminates in a mayhem-filled night they will never forget.

This is the second collaboration between McKee and Modernciné, who worked together previously on the thriller THE WOMAN; CHEERLEADERS marks the first time Sivertson will work with the company. ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE is actually a reimagining of a video project McKee and Sivertson wrote and shot immediately after graduating from USC Film School some ten years ago. Since then, both have gone on to successful solo directing careers.

"ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE is leading us into the exciting world of popcorn fare, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have the creative freedom that a company like Modernciné provides for writer/directors. This is going to be a thrill-packed extravaganza with a hot young cast to die for," said McKee and Sivertson.

"Working on my first collaboration with Mr. Sivertson and second feature with Mr. McKee is an honor and real opportunity to promote the artist driven approach I believe in. It's what Modernciné is all about. Everything begins and ends with the directors' vision and with that approach originality and timeless entertainment is born," said Andrew van den Houten.

Recent projects for Modernciné include the critically-acclaimed, audience favorite FUNERAL KINGS, which debuted as an official selection at this year's SXSW Film Festival and is currently playing at the Mann Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. Other films currently in post-production include JUG FACE, based on newcomer Chad Crawford Kinkle's award winning screenplay from Slamdance 2011 and Brian Avenet-Bradley's second feature BLACK BUTTERFLIES starring Gary Cairns and Brad Dourif.

Caitlin Stasey is repped by UTA and Magnolia Management, Sianoa Smit-McPhee by ICM and the Schiff Company, and Tom Williamson by Rothman Patino Andres Entertainment. Additionally, Chris Sivertson is repped by CAA, Aperture Entertainment, and Sloss Law, and Lucky McKee by Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman.
