According to an article on Variety, Marc Bennett's new indie comedy 'Should've Been Romeo' has filled in its cast with stage actors like Ed Asner, Even Handler, Carol Kane, Mary McCormack, Kelly Osbourne and Renee Taylor. The film, which had previously announced its star Paul Ben-Victor, will also feature B.J. Britt, Michael Rapaport, Natasha Henstridge, Alanna Ubach and Howard Rosenman.
The script, written by Ben-Victor, Leah Kornfeld Friedman and Greg Ferkel, focuses on an egotistical middle-aged pitchman who works for a potato chip company. After losing his job he finds himself faced with the task of looking after his octogenarian grandfather (Ashner).
Gregory Segal of Alternate Reality has joined the project as a producer, with Eric Cusimano and David and Donna Levy as executive producers. The movie is currently shooting in Los Angeles but no release date has been announced as of yet.
