According to a new interview with X-MEN star James McAvoy, the actor has revealed that Tony Award-winning stage and screen star Alan Cumming will be returning to the hit mutant superhero franchise in his celebrated role of Nightcrawler in the forthcoming X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
McAvoy remarked upon the enticing all-star cast in a recent radio interview, stating, "It's huge - the cast is huge."
Elaborating, McAvoy said that in addition to Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender returning for the next film, "You got me, her, him - Nick Hoult will be back, and he's just blossoming massively over there, as well. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming; Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned - I don't know if that's happening."
While Game of Thrones star Dinklage has been confirmed to appear in the upcoming new entry in the hit franchise, Cumming's involvement has not yet been addressed by the studio.
In remarking on another frequent crossover stage and screen star coming back for another X-MEN, McAvoy remarked, "'Huge' Jackman is coming back," he said with a laugh, nicknaming the athletic actor in the process.
"He's massive! He's like 7'5' and he's, like, muscle-y!"
And a whole lot more! We wouldn't want Wolverine any other way - nor Nightcrawler in anyone else's guise than that of Alan Cumming.
