It was announced today that A24 has acquired the rights to Sophia Coppola's THE BLING RING, starring Emma Watson. In addition, the studio revealed that a theatrical release was set for sometime in June.
The film is based on actual events about a group of teenagers who stole more $3 million worth of high-end designer jewelry from celebrities inclucing Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom, Miranda Kerr, Brian Austin Green, Megan Fox and Lindsay Lohan.
THE BLING RING stars Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, Taissa Farmiga, Erin Daniels, Nina Siemaszko, and Gavin Rossdale.
Coppola wrote and directed the feature film, which was produced by her brothers, Roman and Youree Henley. Fred Roos and Michael Zakin served as executive producers.
