The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 43rd anniversary in 2013 with an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites, and beloved films. The 2013 series, made possible through the generous support of PNC, will run June 28-August 25 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), featuring 27 films over nine weeks.

2013 highlights include 12 series premieres, a silent film with live musical accompaniment, two Saturday mornings of classic cartoons, and one "Fright Nite Friday" double feature.

On Friday, July 26, local TV and radio legend Fritz the Nite Owl returns to host the "Fright Nite Friday" double feature-Son of Dracula (1943) and The Black Cat (1934). Patrons will have the chance to meet Fritz in the lobby before and after the screenings, and he'll also introduce both films.

The 2013 silent film presentation will be The Little American (1917) starring silent film superstar Mary Pickford and featuring live musical accompaniment by organist Clark Wilson on the Ohio Theatre's famed "Mighty Morton" theatre organ. The silent film will be shown Thursday and Friday, August 8 and 9.

The popular Cartoon Capers also return on Saturday, July 13, and Saturday, August 10. Both showings will begin at 10 am and feature classic Warner Brothers and MGM cartoons.
