Julia Stiles has officially signed on for the upcoming Mary Pickford biopic, THE FIRST, according to Variety.
Stiles is set to play legendary 20th century screenwriter Frances Marion, who won Academy Awards for films such as THE BIG HOUSE and THE CHAMP. Marion was a long-time collaborator of Pickford's.

THE FIRST follows Pickford (Lily Rabe), a revolutionary force in early Hollywood, founding the United Artists studio with fellow star Charlie Chaplin. Jennifer DeLia is set to direct the film, written by Josh Fagin, with Poverty Row Entertaiment's Julie Pacino producing alongside Said Zahraoui. The film is based upon Eileen Whitfield's biography PICKFORD: THE WOMAN WHO MADE HOLLYWOOD.
Michael Pitt and Ryan Simpkins also star.
THE FIRST is expected to begin shooting later this year.
